Badger Bushcraft

Badger Bushcraft, founded by Phil Brown in 2008, offers high quality courses and bespoke training in basic and advanced bushcraft skills, wilderness survival training, primitive technology, nature based learning events, wild foods and foraging plus lots, lots more.

Our guidance and tuition caters for adults, families and children of all ages and abilities in the stunning countryside of Kent and the south east of England. We aslo offer a very well established and highly regarded educational workshops for schools which can be delivered either at our amazingly inspirational bushcraft site set on a 3,000 acre private estate in some 1,000 acres of Kentish woodland or at a school's outdoor teaching area or in the classroom.

Phil has an infectious passion for all aspects of bushcraft and country living combined with an exceptionally professional attitude, a host of relevant qualifications, years of experience and tremendous enthusiasm. Phil’s experience as a practitioner of outdoor learning in the many guises that contain bushcraft also include having worked as both an instructor and an assessor on many NCFE industry recognised qualifications, in this role Phil has been privileged to have helped train, coach and assess many people that are now teaching bushcraft both in the UK and in Europe.

"What do parents owe their young that is more important than a warm and trusting connection to the Earth...?" - Theodore Roszak, The Voice of the Earth

Our courses, corporate events, bespoke and one-on-one training are hosted in some truley stunning and inspiring countryside on the 3,000 acre Belmont Estate set in the Kent North Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Centrally located between the main motway aarteries of the M20 and M2 our site offers easy access from both the continent, London, the surrounding counties of Sussex, Essex, Surrey and beyond.

Our clients include individuals and families that have wanted to reconnect to the landscape and our natural heritage with little or no knowledge of bushcraft skills through to experienced outdoor instructors and leaders, educational establishments, schools, colleges, clubs, youth clubs, adventure centres, societies, corporate clients, well known musicians, bands and international celebrities.

Bushcraft for children and bushcraft for schools has become a large part of our work and we are passionate about getting young people involved and engaged with outdoor learning. We also offer an exceptional range of bushcraft and survival skills parties, details are available on our Bushcraft Party page.

Since 2008 we have been working in close partnership with Kent County Council supporting both in school projects, Extended Services, Study Support, Children's University, holiday workshops and also consulting in outdoor education. Over the years Badger Bushcraft has worked with many thousands of children and young people.

We have also worked on expeditions in temperate Europe and the challenging environments of Pacific Coast of the United States which included some interesting evening encounters with rattle snakes in the Mojave Desert!

Badger Bushcraft Open Day Course for SchoolsAlongside our scheduled courses we also offer the opportunity to design your perfect and totally bespoke bushcraft, survival, primitive technology or nature based course including only elements and activities that are relevant, of interest and important to you. We also offer a unique Corporate Events & Team Building "Gourmet Bushcraft" event for business clients.

Over recent years mobile bushcraft has become exceptionally popular with some of our client base as we are also kitted out and prepared to come to you, so instead of travelling to one of our farm or woodland sites near our base in the heart of Kent we can pack one of our Land Rovers and travel to your site, school or location. This has proved to be exceptionally popular and for some clients extremely cost effective with the team working all over the UK. We also offer this mobile service for Bushcraft Parties.
