This week we have been busy running the exceptionally popular Badger Bushcraft Family Learning Days for Maidstone Extended Services on our country farm site between Maidstone and Ashford in Kent.
Families came from far and wide including the following Kent primary schools:- Barming, Brunswick, Greenfields, Harrietsham, Headcorn, Hollingbourne, Hunton, Kingswood, Loose Infants, Madginford Park Infants, North Borough, Palace Wood, Senacre, Staplehurst, West Borough and Yalding.
The courses were delivered by Badger Bushcraft Head Instructor Phil Brown at our farm site in Egerton, Kent. We were also pleased to see George Bilcliffe who came along on the Monday to see what the Badger Bushcraft Family Learning Days were all about. Also in attendance on the Tuesday and Wednesday was our good friend John Battersby, who is a Bushcraft Instructor in his own right, who lent a hand on the Tuesday and delivered a first class Plant, Tree and Animal Identification Walk on the Wednesday. A big thank you to the above named for their help, support and professionalism!

The bushcraft and nature based activities included in the courses were:-
- Fire Craft
- Safe Fire Construction and Maintenance
- Plant and Tree Identification
- Small Mammal Feeding Signs
- Backwoods Cooking
- Examining Different Animal Skulls
- Nature Walk
- Atlatl - The Ancient Spear Throwers
ÂÂ
Yet again it was really nice to see some “bushcraft professionals” coming back to see us once again – Kevin and Ryan are on their third course and I think Dana and Ned have attended our badger Bushcraft Family Learning Day Course a whopping 5 times now! It is always lovely to see old students and to see some of the skills we have shared with you have been well remembered and put to good use – very well done on the fire lighting Ryan and Ned!
We have uploaded all of the pictures to our photobucket account, links below:-
