Just under two years ago Kitty decided we needed another pond dedicated to wildlife in the garden. Last week we were delighted to see the arrival of our first frogs and some frogspawn!

A large male stoat (Mustela erminea) has been filmed on a trail camera in a rural Kent garden at the start of spring 2012. Trail cameras often reveal the secretive and often hidden happenings of the wild animals and their adventures in our own back yards.

During a recent excursion to a Kent beach one of the young men, who searched amongst the rocks with great patience and dogged determination, collected the find of the day – a fossilised gastropod!

Several early morning and dusk ventures that have proved fruitless have finally been rewarded with a beautiful encounter with a Peregrine and some pictures by which to remember the event.

A recent morning started with the local songbird and blackbird population creating a hullabaloo as a female sparrowhawk hunted the local trees, shrubs and hedgerows that abut our base here in Kent.
