As we build courses around your requirements please use the Contact page to send an email or phone us and Phil will design and deliver the programme you want.

What previous experience do I need?

No previous experience is necessary and we will work with you and at a pace that suits you to ensure that you are comfortable and competent with the skills you will be learning.

Page Top

How fit should I be?

Although we will not be running any marathons a reasonable level of fitness is required.

Page Top

What age do I need to be?

We have extensive experience working with all age groups. Our Family Learning Days and Family Events are exceptionally popular however all under 18s will need to be accompanied by an adult.

What kit do I need?

We will provide you with a comprehensive kit list and also help, where possible, you to source essential items you may need. You will need basic camping equipment i.e. tent, sleeping bag, sleeping mat, wash kit, mug, plate/bowl, knife, fork, spoon, small first aid kit, personal medication, etc.

What clothing do I need?

Correct clothing can be essential to your comfort and well being. We would recommend that you wear stout walking boots and build your clothing with plenty of warm layers. As we will be based around a camp fire and courses can include fire craft please remember that most man made textiles can be damaged by heat and sparks can easily put holes in fleece and Gore-Tex!

Do I have to camp on site? Where can I stay before or after a course?

Whilst we encourage camping we also recognise that this is not to all tastes. Our main site has the exceptional Elvey Farm offering “stylish Guesthouse accommodation in the Heart of Kent” only a few minutes drive away.

What will we eat?

Single Day Courses/Guided Walks, etc. – To provide maximum value for money single day courses, guided walks etc. do not normally include food and you should bring a packed lunch. We will provide plenty of tea, coffee and biscuits.

Overnight/Week long courses – We will discuss with you dietary requirements and design a menu accordingly. Hot food will be prepared and cooked on site. Tea, coffee and biscuits will be constantly available.

Please advise us of any special dietary requirements or allergies.

* NOTE – We endeavour, where practically possible, to source all of our food and drink items locally supporting small business in the village and neighbouring community.

Do I need to drive to the site?

We can arrange, if practically possible, to meet you at either Pluckley or Charing railway station and drop you back there after the course.
