A Foraging and Wildfoods Day

Participants will be gently guided on their voyage of discovery by highly experienced forager and wild foods expert Carol Hunt who will be supported by bushcraft and survival skills instructor Phil Brown.
This course is run from 10am - 4pm.
Group sizes are small so that there will be the very best opportunity for everyone to learn and participate. The day will include:
- Wild foods foraging walk
- Where not to forage and what to avoid
- Poisonous plants
- Foraging and the law
- Introduction to fire lighting - make minimal impact and leave no trace
- Backwoods catering skills
- Group wild food preparation and cooking
- Enjoying your own wild food banquet
The day will conclude with a look at reading material, reference books and field guides used and recommended by both Carol and Phil. You will also be presented with handouts and recipe details. Long trousers and long sleeved tops are preferable as we may venture amongst the vegetation.
As a guide you should bring:
- Warm clothing
- Long sleeve shirts and long trousers
- Waterproofs
- Hat and Gloves
- Suitable Outdoor Footwear
- Warm Socks
- Cups or Large Mug
- Plate, bowl, knife, fork and spoon
- Packed Lunch And Soft Drinks
- Mosquito repellent
- Camera.
- Note Books With Pen or Pencil
- A small rucksack or bag to carry everything in
